Wells Fargo Wednesdays' Will Offer Free Bike Sharing in Denver and Boulder During Bike to Work Month

Are you interested in trying Denver B-cycle as part of Wells Fargo Wednesdays? The best way to participate is to go to the Denver B-cycle website, find the station closest to you, and head to that station. Once there follow the instructions on the kiosk screen to receive your free 24-hour Access Pass.
Thanks to sponsorship from Wells Fargo, Denver B-cycle and Boulder B-cycle will waive the daily membership fee for anyone who wants to use the bike-sharing system during "Wells Fargo Wednesdays" on June 6, 13 and 20.
Through the Wells Fargo Wednesday sponsorship, riders can take advantage of a free 24-hour membership (normally $8 in Denver and $5 in Boulder), that allows them to take unlimited trips of 30 minutes or less. Longer rides incur standard usage fees. Additionally, anyone who takes advantage of "Wells Fargo Wednesdays" will be able to buy an annual B-cycle membership at a discounted rate. "Experience from our growing membership base suggests that trying the bike sharing system means liking the bike sharing system," said Parry Burnap, executive director of Denver Bike Sharing. "These free days will make it a snap to try the system and we appreciate the support from Wells Fargo Bank to expose the concept to more riders. This is a great way for people to join in the celebration of Bike To Work Month and get their riding legs ready for Bike to Work Day on June 27."
Due to the anticipated increased demand on the bike sharing systems, Bike to Work Day (June 27) will not be included in this year's promotion.
"Denver and Boulder are two of the most bike-friendly cities in the United States and Wells Fargo wants to do its part to promote bicycle use, which pays immediate dividends to both the rider and city, and to celebrate and promote Bike to Work Day," said Ashley Grosh, Assistant Vice President, Wells Fargo Environmental Affairs Group. "This sponsorship gives riders the opportunity to give the bike sharing system a try, encouraging greater overall usage in the future."
Added Boulder B-cycle Executive Director Elizabeth Train: "Sharing bikes is a concept that is quickly becoming a fixture in cities across the country. The support of our corporate partners is critical and we hope the free days encourage new users to take out a bike for a test ride."
