2011 Annual Report Highlights

Our 2011 Annual Report is now available on the Denver Bike Sharing website. Overall, 2011 was a successful year for Denver B-Cycle. Last year saw a 97 percent increase in bike checkouts with only a 10 percent increase in operating and G&A costs. B-Cycle users rode a total of 431,817 miles in 2011, a 105 percent increase from 2010. As a result, 37,000 gallons of gasoline weren’t used and over 700,000 pounds of carbon emissions were avoided. Annual members cite weight loss, increased fitness, reduced stress and better moods as benefits they’ve experienced with B-Cycle use. Looking ahead future expansion for Denver B-Cycle will target the neighborhoods of West City Park, the Colfax Corridor, East Capitol Hill, Lower Highlands and Highlands, the Santa Fe district, Washington Park and the 1st and Broadway commercial district to complement Denver’s existing public transportation system.
